We picked 21 cherry tomatoes today.

Not one of them made it home.

It's difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a homegrown tomato.

One sunny afternoon at the cottage Em called out that she had spotted a dragonfly exoskeleton. Cool but not exactly news as there are plenty around the cottage this time of year and we already had a collection of exoskeletons amassed on the makeshift nature table in the cottage.
We misheard her though.
What she found was a dragonfly actually emerging from his exoskeleton. Very cool. Turns out a few friends had joined him on the nearby rocks and all were in different stages of emerging. And so we spent a while watching as they unfolded themselves from their nymph bodies, stretched, pumped up their wings, warmed themselves in the sun and then took flight for the very first time.
