Well hello there

What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.
~ Chief Seattle

Some wildlife spotted on our canoe trip. I love that they both smiled for the camera.

Flowers in the wild

May all your weeds be wildflowers.

Dock shots

Being at the cottage means being at the dock. When my grandparents built the cottage, one of the best things they did was build a big dock - the kind where you can have 6 muskoka chairs, a snack table, kids on towels and still have enough room for the dog to run off the end after a tennis ball. So many of my cottage pictures are dock shots - sunsets, wet toes, paddles left beside the canoe, snacks and books - dock shots.

Sunset shots

One of the gifts of being at the cottage is the invitation to spend every evening saying thank you and good night to the sun.

Pretty rocks

She is mine own,
And I as rich in having such a jewel
As twenty seas, if all their sand were pearl,
The water nectar, and the rocks pure gold.

The Raft

If I had a raft, I would have a good time.
~ Michael Palmer

Take one homemade raft, the lake and the sun.

Add:
~ a long pole
~ an anchor
~ friends of course, the more the merrier
~ waves if available
~ the occasional adult willing to try and sink the corner

Result:
More fun and adventure than you could imagine.
