Shades of yellow on a muddy gray day

Yellow coloured objects appear to be gold.
~ Aristotle

This morning was a muddy rainy dreary day - until R and I found ourselves in the bakery for our usual Thursday morning ritual. And then it was like the sun had come out just for us.

Nature Rarer Uses Yellow
Nature rarer uses yellow
Than another hue;
Saves she all of that for sunsets,--
Prodigal of blue,
Spending scarlet like a woman,
Yellow she affords
Only scantly and selectly,
Like a lover's words.

~ Emily Dickinson
